Unitarians know how to have fun! Scheduled activities occur throughout
the year and new events regularly show up on our Calendar, so be sure to check it regularly. We have both fund raisers and "fun" raisers, but they're all great opportunities to get to together with old friends and meet some of our newer members. Below is a sampling of some recent events.

A 31-year tradition, occurring in the spring, this intergenerational gathering is fun for everyone. Lots to do, or do nothing (except volunteer to help prepare one meal during the weekend).
Neighborhood Gatherings

Periodically, members living in the same general area of the city get together for a pot luck. Identified areas include Northside, Westside, Amelia Island, the Beaches, Arlington, San Marco, and Southside. Here are a few photos of some of those fun get togethers held during August 2006.
Northside gathering at the  home of Frank and Emma Dancy. Thank you for opening your home for this well-attended event!
Above, a substantial number of Beaches members met at Mary Lou and David Boyer's home.

Church Potlucks
A regular feature at UUCJ is our potluck meals held right after the service. Everyone brings a dish and somehow the balance between protein dishes, sides, and desserts works out! Celebrating the start of our new church year, we had an overflow crowd of hungry members and guests.
Social Activities
Sister Church Program -- Bozod, Romania
Our Sister Church Program brings two cultures together.

Bozod Sister Church Committee is involved with activities related to connecting with our sister church in Bozod, Romania. Our activities connect UUCJ with the Unitarian Church in Bozod, Romania.
  • We bring people together for wonderful Hungarian Dinners at UUCJ to support our program goals.
  • We create transformational opportunities for pilgrimage and hospitality, learning, and service.
  • We learn about each other through various kinds of communication.
  • Through the UUPCC we bridge our UU congregations to the world and reach across boundaries to collaborate with old and new partners.
