  • January 1:  “Awakening to Your True Nature”
David Keel
What does it mean to awaken? How do you awaken?  Is there anything that you feel you should be doing during your short time on earth? What do Emerson and other mystics say about the spiritual journey?
  • January 8: “The Year 2011”
Rev. Ronald A. Hersom
Similar to last year, Donna Janesky and I will review the year 2011 looking at those who left us this year, their impact on our lives, the ones we may know and those possibility not. As we celebrate the new year, our reflections will hopefully guide us as we move forward.
  • January 15: "Justice for Who?”
The Joyful Singers & Rev. Ronald A. Hersom
How is justice an integral part of our faith tradition.   What is our call individually and collectively in living the values of Unitarian Universalism? How do we as a member of the Jacksonville community do this within our four walls and beyond them as well?
  • January 22: “Our 4th Principle – ‘The Keystone’ ”
Rev. Ronald A. Hersom
This is the fourth of a series of sermons over the next few months where we will explore each of our 7 Principles.  Today, we will explore our 4th Principle –  the free and responsible search for truth and meaning – what it means to us as a faith tradition and how do we put it into action in our daily lives?
  • January 29: “Taking the 5th”
Rev. Ronald A. Hersom
This is the fifth of a series of sermons over the next few months where we will explore each of our 7 Principles.  Today, we will explore our 5th Principle –  right of conscience and the use of the democratic process – what it means to us as a faith tradition and how do we put it into action in our daily lives?
