Welcoming Congregation QuestionnaireDear Friends, The Welcoming Congregation program has been developed and refined by the UUA over the past 10 years. Its purpose is to reduce prejudice by increasing understanding and acceptance among people of different sexual orientations. The Welcoming Congregation program is a first step in exploring the many "isms" we need to address in order to be truly open to the wealth of diversity in our world and to put an end to exclusion. Only then will we completely affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Your Welcoming Congregation Task Force is working to design an appropriate set of activities which will result in our officially being recognized as a Welcoming Congregation by the UUA. The current efforts include such things as gathering materials, training the members of the task force, and developing a path forward to involve the congregation as a whole. The questionnaire below is suggested by the UUA as a tool to help tailor our activities to our congregation. It is intended to be answered honestly and anonymously. Getting a sense of the feelings and thoughts of our members and friends on these issues will enable us to plan our ongoing activities based on the true needs of our congregation. Please take the time to have each member of your household fill this out either via e-mail using this form or printing it and returning it to the church office. Additional copies are available in the church office. In Faith |
